About the author

I am a feminist researcher and writer using fiction to address women’s invisibility, marginalisation, and stereotypical representation in the historical and literary record and bring lost stories to light.

I write on Whadjuk country in Perth, Western Australia.

I began writing historical fiction whilst living in Singapore and found publication with Monsoon Books, a publisher of Asian fiction.

Moving back to Perth I completed a PhD in Creative Writing at Edith Cowan University about women, war and the Japanese occupation of Singapore. The novel for that PhD, Salvaged from the Fall was published by Penguin Random House SEA in 2023.

In 2021 I entered the world of crime, receiving a mentorship from the Australian Society of Authors for a police procedural, Tokyo Time.

"1942: During the Japanese occupation of Singapore, a Eurasian and a Japanese homicide detective are thrown together in a ragtag civilian CID, under the power of a brutal and corrupt military regime."

Tokyo Time will be published by USA-based publisher Brash Books in 2023.

I'm currently writing the second in this series.
